Nimovis PDF
Redaction that holds
Many programs simply place a black box over the text when redacting. The text is still in the file and can be copied out with two clicks. Nimovis PDF actually removes the content: you mark the passages, review everything at your own pace, and only when you download does the redaction become permanent.
- You stay in control: as long as you have not downloaded, you can still change every mark. Only on download does the redaction become final.
- Invisible details such as author or creating application are removed in the same step.
- An honest consequence: on redacted pages, text can no longer be selected or searched. That is exactly how you can tell that something was truly removed.
What Nimovis PDF cannot do
Images only as PNG or JPEG
You can insert images as PNG or JPEG or convert them into a PDF. Please convert other image formats beforehand.
Password-protected PDFs stay closed
A file that already has a password cannot be edited. First remove the protection in the program that applied it.
The Strong level has a price
At the strongest compression level, the pages are converted into images. The file becomes considerably smaller, but text can no longer be selected or searched afterwards. If the text should be preserved, choose one of the other two levels.
Online only
Nimovis PDF runs in the browser and requires an internet connection. You can place it on your device like an app, but the work always happens online.
Soon without signing in
In the future, Nimovis PDF is intended to be usable directly in the browser, without an account and without signing in: open a file, edit it, download it. We will only announce a date once it is reliably fixed. Until then, you start for free permanently in its basic functions; we set up your access personally.
Questions and answers
Is redacted content really removed from the file?
Yes. When you download, the marked content is permanently removed from the file. It can then neither be displayed nor copied out. Invisible details such as author and creating application are also removed. This is how you can tell: on a redacted page, text can no longer be selected or searched.
How long is my editing session kept?
Your editing session is kept for 24 hours after the last change. You can have up to 10 files in progress at the same time. The history shows every step by name, 12 named step types in total; everything can be undone and redone.
Which files can I edit?
PDF files up to 100 MB. You insert images as PNG or JPEG or convert them into a PDF. Only PDFs that already have a password stay closed; remove the protection beforehand.
What does Nimovis PDF cost?
Basic use is free permanently: 15 operations per month and files up to 25 MB. If you need more, packages start at 6.90 euros per month. All prices are on the pricing page.
